Cost calculator
What are you actually paying?
The advertised price is rarely the real bill. Set your numbers below and see what each platform costs a shop your size — including the per-staff fees, commissions and customer-facing charges that don't appear on a pricing page.

What this calculator doesn't tell you
- Where we couldn't verify a company's processing rate, we don't invent one. We have no published rate on file for Boulevard, Clover, Squire and Vagaro — some require a sales call, others may publish one somewhere we didn't find. Their bar carries a hatched segment priced at an industry-typical rate purely so it isn't misleadingly short — their real number could be better than ours, or worse. We don't know, and neither will you until you ask them.
- List prices only. Most of these companies negotiate. A shop with volume may do considerably better than what's published here, and a quote you've been given beats anything on this page.
- Your card mix is a guess unless you know it. Debit costs everyone less than credit, and debit can't be surcharged anywhere in the US. If you take mostly debit, every number here shifts — set the slider to what your statement actually says.
- Setup, hardware and training aren't included beyond published setup fees. Terminals cost extra everywhere, including here.
- Marketplace platforms bring you customers. Booksy, StyleSeat and Fresha charge commission because they list you where people who've never heard of you can find you. That's worth something. Whether it's worth 30% of a first visit is your call, not ours — this tool prices the software, not the marketing.
- Some of these sell more than booking. If you need clinical charting, enterprise reporting or a franchise rollup, price is not the only axis and the cheapest row here is not automatically the right answer.
- Passing the fee to your customer is a choice, not a saving. The surcharge covers your card processing — it doesn't earn you anything, and some owners simply won't do it. Turn it off above and the numbers change a lot.
- Surcharging rules here are a summary, not legal advice. Surcharging is prohibited in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine and Puerto Rico, and capped at 2% in Colorado and Oklahoma. Card-brand rules, notice requirements and registration obligations apply on top of state law, and all of it changes. Confirm with your own processor and your own counsel before you switch it on.

Every competitor figure below comes from the vendor's own published material on the date shown. Rates change; if one has moved, the entry is wrong until we re-check it. Where an entry says no published rate was found, that describes what we could verify at that source — not a claim that the company hides it.
