FAQ for Barbers — Your Profile, Your Clients
Answers for barbers on barber.shop: what your own profile page does for you, what it costs, how to link it to your shop, and what happens to it when you move.
Your Profile
What are the benefits to having my own profile page?
Your profile works for you and for the shop you work at:
• Your profile is public to the web. Existing and potential customers can find you, see your work, see where you work, and ask for you by name.
• It lifts both of you. A public page linked to your shop raises visibility for you and drives traffic to the shop.
• It is yours. If you move to another shop, your profile goes with you.
Do I have to pay for a profile page?
There is a free version and a paid version.
The free version gives you four images and a fixed handle you cannot change.
The paid version gives you unlimited images, GIFs and video, and lets you choose your own handle. If people already know you by a name on Instagram and it is available here, you can use the same one.
How do I get to my profile once it is published?
Two addresses, both valid — use whichever you prefer. If your handle is joe-the-barber, your profile is at barber.shop/barber/joe-the-barber and at barber.shop/b/joe-the-barber. The short one is easier to say out loud or print on a card.
Can I link to my social media on my profile?
Yes. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and X are all supported.
Can I put in links to other websites?
Links to other websites are not supported.
Your Shop
How do I link my profile to the shop I work at?
If your shop is already on barber.shop, send a link request to the shop's handle. The owner accepts it, and from then on the shop's details appear on your profile. Your services will either fill in automatically or you will pick from the shop's list — that is the owner's choice.
If your shop is not on barber.shop, you can still set up your own address and list your services yourself.
What do I do if I want to switch shops?
Unlink your profile from the shop you are leaving and send a link request to the new one. Your profile, your handle and your work stay exactly as they are — only the shop attached to them changes.
Will customers see me on the shop's page?
Yes. When someone opens a shop page, the first thing they see after the business details is every barber, each with a Book button that takes them straight into booking with you.
The shop page also lists services. If a customer picks a service first, they then choose a barber — and if your shop lets you set your own services, you appear for the ones you offer.
Appointments
Can customers book appointments on my profile page?
Yes. When a customer taps Book on your profile, you are already selected — they just pick a service and a time. If your profile is linked to a shop, the shop can also add appointments to your schedule for walk-ins and anything else that comes up.
How do I see and manage my appointments?
Everything lives in the console at console.barber.shop. Cancel, reschedule, or send a finished appointment to the terminal for payment.
Terminal payments need the shop to have a CardPointe merchant account and terminal hardware. Managing your schedule does not.
Getting Paid
The shop pays me a commission on sales. How do I monitor my sales and tips?
All of it is in the console — what you sold, what you were tipped, and when.
Support
What do I do if I have questions, complaints, or need help?
There is a Support tab on both barber.shop and console.barber.shop. Use either one, any time.
Will there be a mobile app?
We are looking at it. In the meantime, customers can save your profile to their phone's home screen, which gives it an app-like feel without anything to download.
